It was a hot North Carolina summer, about 6 years ago. She was a teenager. Long blond hair to the middle of her back, leaning down by the fence that divided the racetrack from the grandstands. He had walked over from pit row, and wrapped his fingers through the chain link, just to be closer to her. She giggled, and tossed her hair. He looked away with the slightest hint of a blush, as she walked away. When she turned to leave, with a little wave and a smile, I noticed her brown leather belt was burned with the name"Mary Candace" on the back. I knew right then and there that there was no way my cousin would be without her for the rest of his life. They were 15. I was in town for the summer, at the Racetrack about to watch my cousin race for the checkered flag the first time I met Mary Candace. She was so young and so beautiful, and so kind. A perfect match for my handsome, and sweet Cousin Bradley. As I watched Mary Candace walk down the aisle, the scene above is all I could remember. They were teenagers, who grew up in age, and in their love for each other. Ready now to make a home and a life with each other. Bradley and Mary Candace, I was incredibly honored to photograph your wedding, but I am even more honored to have watched your love for each other grow. Love you both!!

The Beautiful Ladies...

After the ceremony we headed to Mary Candace's Childhood home, for the Reception. I love photographing home receptions. It makes them so personal, intimate, and warm.

I was at Mary Candace's house a few days prior to the wedding, and when I walked up to her barn, her horses popped their heads out at me. The minute I saw that I envisioned this exact portrait. So glad those horses helped me achieve it!

Some Reception details.

And they lived happily, ever, after...
